About Brooke
Brooke Bulmash is a multimedia artist, designer, storyteller, and writer. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where she earned dual minors in Landscape Architecture and Writing. Born in Detroit, Michigan, where she lived until the age of seven, Brooke has also lived in Cleveland, Ohio, and Dallas, Texas, where she attended Greenhill School, graduating in 2017. She considers herself, first and foremost, to be a child of the Midwest. Currently based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Brooke is pursuing a Master of Landscape Architecture and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan.
Brooke loves maps, mushrooms, trees, plants, art, film, speculative fiction, poetry, digital fabrication, music, crocheting, swimming, yoga, hiking and in general, pursuing her natural curiosity about the world.
From a research, academic, and professional perspective, Brooke is interested in the intersections between art, architecture, literature, ecology, design, civic engagement and urban life. She is deeply passionate about environmental justice and is particularly fascinated by environmental remediation efforts involving both plants and mushrooms, adaptive reuse, sustainability, and the future of the Midwest.
This website is a living document of her creative expressions, both in the academic sphere and elsewhere. Additionally, she will use the site as a forum for sharing one of her favorite hobbies: reading.
