Arch 211

Instructor: Anna Ives, Fall 2018, Washington University in St. Louis, Sam Fox School of Visual Art and Design

For my third semester in the program, we focused on the building in construction next door: Weil Hall. The semester taught us a bit about construction observation and how a massive project like WashU’s East End functions during the construction phase. We were tasked with the creation of a ‘green house’ for the new building’s atrium space. For my model, I created a woven surface intended to serve as both an art object and functional growing medium for Tillandsia and other plants typically found in interior design.
